Smiths in Longquan hand-forge asanmai (三枚合夹)blade: a1095 high-carbon steel coreheat-treated for edge hardness, sandwiched betweenfolded pattern-steel jackets(百炼钢皮铁) that add shock resistance and subtle flowing grain. After normalization, oil quench, and temper cycles, the blade is hand-polished and fitted to a full-tang hilt withcast copperfurniture. A smoothhardwood scabbardcompletes an elegant piece suited to collectors andnon-contactwushu/taiji forms.
