Are Chinese swords legal to buy and own?
In most countries it is legal to purchase and own swords for collection or martial arts practice. However, local laws vary by country and state regarding carry and public display. Please check your local regulations before ordering.
Are your swords battle-ready or decorative?
We offer functional, hand-forged swords as well as decorative display pieces. Product pages specify the intended use. Functional blades are heat-treated and full-tang; decorative versions are designed for display.
Do your swords come sharpened?
Most of our swords are built with a full-tang construction to ensure durability and safety. As for sharpness, unless specified by the customer, blades are usually shipped with random edge sharpness (some sharpened, some semi-sharp, or blunt). If you require a fully sharpened edge or a blunt training edge, please contact us before purchase so we can prepare the correct version for you.
What steels do you use?
We primarily use high-carbon steel, folded Damascus steel and manganese steel. Fittings are typically brass/copper/alloy, and scabbards use solid woods such as rosewood or ebony. All swords are crafted in Longquan, Zhejiang.
How do I maintain and oil a sword?
After handling, wipe the blade dry and apply a thin coat of mineral oil or sword oil to prevent rust. Store in a dry place inside the scabbard. Avoid prolonged contact with moisture and do not touch the blade with bare hands for long periods.
Do you offer customisation (length, fittings, engraving)?
Yes. For certain models we can customise blade length, grip wrapping, scabbard materials and simple engravings. Share your requirements with our support team for a quote and estimated lead time.
Do you provide wholesale or bulk discounts?
Yes. We support bulk purchases for martial arts schools, reenactment groups and retailers. Please contact us with your list of items and quantities for a quotation.
Are your swords full-tang and properly heat-treated?
Yes. Our functional swords are full-tang for strength and balance, and undergo professional heat treatment and tempering. Typical hardness is HRC 56-60 depending on steel and model; see the product page for exact specs.
How do I choose the right blade length and weight?
For most adults, a Jian blade length of about 28-32 inches (71-81 cm) works well. For Tai Chi practice choose a balanced weight around 900-1200 g with the point of balance closer to the guard; for cutting practice a slightly forward balance and heavier weight may be preferred. Always review the measurements on the product page.
What is included in the package?
Unless otherwise stated, each sword includes the blade with fitted guard and handle, and a matching scabbard. A sword bag may be included with some models. Display stands and maintenance oil are usually not included unless specified.
Can you engrave my name or logo? How long does it take?
Yes, simple text or pattern engraving is available on eligible models. Engraving typically adds 7-10 business days to production and may incur a small fee. Please contact us with your artwork or text before ordering.
Do you offer a quality guarantee or warranty?
We stand behind our craftsmanship. Manufacturing defects will be repaired or replaced within 30 days of delivery. Damage from misuse, improper maintenance or impact is not covered. Please contact support with photos for assessment.
