The Aomei Tang Jian is a Chinese Tang-style straight sword distinguished by its hand-forged Damascus patterned steel blade and plum-blossom brass fittings. Gold-tone flowers, silver-tone branches and dark antique-bronze tones complement the reddish-brown wooden scabbard. A matching reddish-brown handle completes the design.
Twisted Damascus patterned steel
The blade is hand forged from Damascus patterned steel (百炼大马花纹钢), twisted during the forging process, then finely ground by hand. The resulting flowing steel pattern gives each blade its own visual character. It is supplied unsharpened.
Plum-blossom fittings and wooden scabbard
The brass fittings are finely carved and carefully ground, with a traditional three-tone surface finish in gold, silver and antique-bronze tones. Raised plum blossoms and branches decorate the guard and matching fittings. The scabbard is made from Dipteryx odorata wood (香二翅豆).
