The Shanggu Dao pairs a curved, unsharpened blade with a reddish-brown Longfengtan wood scabbard. The blade's folded steel pattern and the floral scrollwork on the brass fittings are visible in the close-up photos.
Blade and fittings
Folded patterned steel: Hand-forged and finely ground by hand, with an unsharpened edge.
Carved brass: Floral and scroll motifs on the guard and scabbard fittings are finely polished and given an antiqued finish.
Longfengtan wood scabbard: The scabbard follows the curve of the blade and is finished with matching brass fittings.
