The jian, a straight double-edged sword, used for 2,500 years in China. Originating in the 7th century BCE, like the Sword of Goujian. It comes in one-handed versions, 45-80 cm long, weighing 700-900g. Also, larger two-handed versions for Chinese martial arts training. In folklore, it's the "Gentleman of Weapons," one of four major weapons, along with Gun, Qiang, and Dao. Also called taijijian, a training weapon for taijiquan, though not historically made for it.
