LOONGSWORD brand story
LOONGSWORD Brand Story — Forged in Longquan, Crafted for the World
Our Mission: To bring 2,500 years of Longquan sword-making heritage to enthusiasts, collectors, and martial artists worldwide. We stand by three principles: Authenticity, Hand-Forged Craftsmanship, and Durability. Every LOONGSWORD is more than a blade — it is culture, heritage, and art combined.

Our Heritage
Longquan, located in Zhejiang Province, has been the heart of Chinese sword forging for over 2,500 years. From the Spring and Autumn period to today, generations of craftsmen have perfected folding, hammering, heat treatment, and polishing. LOONGSWORD continues this tradition by blending ancient methods with modern quality standards.
- Spring & Autumn Period: Bronze to iron, the sword as a symbol of identity and virtue.
- Song–Yuan Dynasties: Folding and heat treatment matured, Longquan swords became renowned across Asia.
- Modern Longquan: Intangible Cultural Heritage recognized by China, preserved by LOONGSWORD’s artisans.

How We Forge
Each LOONGSWORD blade undergoes six essential stages:
- Steel Selection: Choosing high-carbon, folded Damascus, or manganese steel according to function.
- Folding & Hammering: Repeated heating and hammering, removing impurities, creating strength and patterns.
- Differential Hardening: Heat treatment with visible hamon line, giving a hard edge and flexible spine.
- Straightening: Fine adjustments for symmetry, geometry, and correct balance.
- Polishing: Multi-stage grinding to reveal steel patterns and cutting edge clarity.
- Mounting & Inspection: Full tang construction, tight assembly, and multi-point QC (hardness, alignment, fittings).

Materials & Craft
- High-Carbon Steel: Excellent sharpness and edge retention, ideal for cutting practice.
- Folded Damascus Steel: Distinctive patterns and toughness, balancing art and function.
- Manganese Steel: Durable and impact-resistant, a great choice for beginners and dojos.
Fittings & Scabbards: Brass, copper, or alloy guards and pommels; rosewood or ebony scabbards; all hand-fitted and reinforced for durability.
