Sabre

A sabre, also spelled saber, is a type of sword with a curved, single-edged blade and a thick back. It is primarily used for cutting and slicing, and was commonly used by cavalry soldiers during the 18th and 19th centuries. Sabers were also used as a weapon of dueling and are still used in modern fencing competitions. The term sabre can also refer to a type of sword used by light cavalry units in the late 18th and early 19th century.
